questions answers Questions and Answers

How long will it take to get my site ranked?

The amount of time varies. Some sites are already indexed in Google and just need to be moved up. Others are not ranked at all so we would need to get your site “noticed” first. On rare occassions, we come across sites who have been penalized and delisted. If that’s the case and we accept you, we have to write to Google to have your site reinstated which takes time.

Whatever your situation, we will give you a time estimate if we take you on as a client.

How much will an estimate cost me?

We do consultations and estimates for free. We only take clients who we know we can get a first page ranking in a cost effective time period.

What happens after I stop paying? Do you delete the links you made to my site?

All the links and changes we’ve made to your site will remain. How well your rankings hold depend on how much competition you have but generally your site will retain decent rankings. We’ll even give you advice on how to hold those rankings even after your contract ends.

Why don’t you accept all websites and clients?

Some websites are of very poor quality. (Lack of content, duplicate content stolen from other sites, incomplete sites) Honestly you could throw a ton of money at us and there is nothing we could do to rank those kinds of websites.

Other times we occassionally come across potential clients who are not willing to let us make necessary changes to their site or tell us they only want to rank for certain impossible keywords. Keywords that have billions of competing webpages.

You offer ranking reports? Where can I see them?

We will provide you with a username and password to our “Client Area” where you can read the reports and chat with us. We can also have the reports emailed to you.

You mention “Google” a lot more than other search engines. Is there a reason?

Google accounts for nearly 70% of all US search engine traffic and this number increases every year. Google rankings for that reason are our top priority although we do monitor and work on results for Bing and Yahoo.

Can you show me where you are building links to my website?

No. We keep our ranking methods private. What you are paying for is the ranking of your site and we will provide weekly ranking reports to show your site’s progress. Coke doesn’t reveal their secret formula, McDonalds’ doesn’t say what’s in their “special sauce”. We operate in the same way.

Do you offer refunds?

It hasn’t happened so far but we have no problem offering refunds if we can’t rank you in a timely fashion. Refunds would be granted on a case by case basis.

Do you only work with online businesses?

We also work with businesses who want to promote themselves locally. We’ve also worked with models, photographers, bar owners, dentists and many types of businesses who AREN’T selling anything online.

How much is your service?

It all depends on how competitive your market is. For example, ranking a website in “New York” will probably take more work than “Fargo, North Dakota”. Or a website based around “iPhones” will probably take more work than something like “custom dog collars”. Just examples but we think you get the picture.

How do I check how many new visitors are coming to my website?

Generally most web hosting companies keep a statistics for your website. “Awstats” or “Webalizer” are 2 commonly used stat tracking programs built into web hosts. You would have to log in to your web hosting account to check or contact their support and ask how you can access your statistics. For more detailed statistics, many people use “Google Analytics” which is an excellent free option.

What is the best way to get new customers online?

We primarily focus on what is called “organic SEO”. This means gaining customers by optimizing your website for certain keywords and ranking those keywords on Google. We prefer this over PPC (Pay Per Click advertising) because with PPC, once you stop paying, the traffic to your website stops completely. With organic SEO, your website stays on or near the top of Google, at least until your competition starts making changes. Then it’s a battle!

How many more visitors can I expect to my site?

The amount of new visitors to your site depends a lot on the market you are in and how many people are performing searches for your product or service. We focus on driving traffic centered around “buying keywords” so you can gain sales, not just people browsing the web.

Why are links back to my site important?

Links to your site from other sites (called “backlinks”) are like a vote or a recommendation to your website. For example, if you had a dog grooming business and one of the leading dog grooming websites linked to your website. This would be like a major recommendation.

Part of our rank building campaigns include gaining links from authoritative, trustworthy websites in your market as well as from popular social media sites, related blogs, forums and news sites. This adds tremendous amount of credibility and authority to your own site leading to higher search rankings.

How long does it typically take before I see results?

The time it takes for your site depends on how much competition you have and when each major search engine “updates”. In between updates, all of the search engine send out “bots” which comb through millions and millions of web pages and then report back with new content and a new ranking. Changes can be in as little as a few days to over a week.
